William G. Hart Jr., M.D. FACS is a highly regarded cosmetic plastic surgeon who has practiced in St. Louis for over 20 years. Dr. Hart is a graduate of St. Louis University and St. Louis University School of Medicine.
Dr. Hart did his general surgery and otolaryngology and facial plastic surgery training at St. Louis University hospitals. He trained in plastic and reconstructive surgery at the University of Texas in San Antonio. He received additional specialty training in hand and microvascular surgery at Wayne State University in Detroit Michigan.

Dr. Hart entered into private practice of plastic and cosmetic surgery in St. Louis in 1981. He received board certification from the American Board of Plastic Surgery in 1981. He is a clinical instructor at St. Louis University. Dr. Hart has served as a consultant to the Air Force. He is also the author of a number of scientific articles.

Dr. Hart practices at St. Louis University Hospitals, St. John's Mercy Hospital, St, Luke's Hospital, and Barnes-Jewish West Hospital. He also operates at HealthSouth surgery centers, Saint Louis Surgical Center, and Timberlake Surgery Center. Dr. Hart's primary area of interest is in the field of cosmetic surgery. He is especially interested in cosmetic and reconstructive breast surgery, cosmetic and reconstructive nasal surgery, facial cosmetic surgery, and ultrasound assisted and tumescent liposuction and body contouring.

Dr. Hart is also an active volunteer and plastic surgery consultant to several overseas organizations that provide care to cleft lip and palate patients as well as burn children in Mexico, Peru and China. Dr. Hart went on a medical mission trip in 2005 to China and in 10 days performed 8 surgeries for patients he had never seen. Most of the children that Dr. Hart helps are orphans with birth defects, many are "Cleft Palate" patients. However he does treat pateints with other medcial issues such as burn patients. In 2006 Dr Hart returned to China and in 5 days performed numerous surgeries including burn patients and reconstructive patients. He was instrumental in helping the Chinese hospital set up a Logitech Quickcam system to conduct video conference calls for pre and post operative patient consults which will help with the continuing care and result of difficult and multi stage cases. Dr. Hart also donated hundreds of surgical instruments and equipment to help update and improve the existing condition of the Chinese hospital.

Dr. Hart's outside interests include skiing, sailing, travel, history, art and music. He has one son who is in graduate school at Stanford University.
